A clear view of the courts
Open a board, see who is playing, and know when the schedule was last checked.
1. Open your court board
- Enter the staff PIN. Use the PIN supplied by the club and select Continue. The PIN protects the reservation details shown on shared screens.
- Choose Tennis or Pickleball. The buttons above the courts switch between the two schedules.
- Choose a day. Use Today, the arrows or the date field. Only dates in the collected schedule window can be selected.
The current date window includes today, 1 previous day and 5 upcoming days. Dates and times use America/Detroit.
Select Lock when you finish using a shared device. The same board will reopen after the next successful PIN entry.
2. Read the schedule at a glance
- Each card is a court. The top of the card shows its current state, including a reservation, lesson, open time or the end of the day’s schedule.
- The current booking gets the most space. Player names, the booking time and the reservation type appear together. The booking member is emphasized and guests are labeled.
- The queue shows what is coming. Upcoming reservations sit below the current booking. On smaller displays, the board may show a count of additional reservations that do not fit.
- The timeline shows the day. Navy marks bookings, gold marks lessons or blocked time, and the current-time marker shows where today stands.
- Other dates show that day’s schedule. Current-time highlights appear only when viewing today.
The court board displays the reservation system’s schedule. Make new bookings, changes and cancellations in the club’s reservation system.
3. Understand automatic updates
The schedule reaches your screen in three steps. Keeping the last successful copy means the board can still display collected bookings during a temporary source outage.
- Step 1 · CollectReservation source
The background worker checks for changes every 300 seconds under normal conditions.
- Step 2 · SaveShared database
Successful collections replace the saved schedule for that sport and date. All boards read this shared copy.
- Step 3 · DisplayYour court board
An open board checks the database every 15 seconds under normal conditions.
A change may need both the next source check and the next screen check before it appears. Slow requests, connection problems or a sleeping browser can make this take longer.
The two times in the header
- Cache
- The last time this screen successfully checked the saved schedule. This advances even if no bookings changed.
- Source
- The last successful collection from the reservation source for the sport and date shown. It advances independently of the screen’s check.
- Timestamp colors
- Light text means checks are on schedule. Yellow means a check is late; red means multiple expected checks have been missed. Hover over a time for more detail.
If an update fails, the board keeps the last successful schedule and displays a warning. A schedule that has never been collected shows Schedule unavailable. An unavailable schedule does not mean that every court is open.
4. Set up a club display
Use display mode for a television or a dedicated court screen. It hides date and sport controls, stays on today and advances to the new day at midnight in the club’s time zone.
Sign in with the staff PIN if prompted. Keep the page open and the device awake with an internet connection. If the session expires, enter the PIN again. The About link remains available in the header.
Common questions
Why is a booking missing or out of date?
Confirm the sport and date first. Check the Source time and any warning on the board. A recent change may still be waiting for the next collection and screen refresh. If the Source time stays behind, contact support with the sport, date and time shown.
Why can I not choose another date?
The board only offers dates within the configured collection window. Display mode always shows today. Open the regular tennis board or pickleball board for date controls.
What happens if the internet or reservation source is unavailable?
The screen warns you and keeps its last successful schedule when one is available. Checks resume automatically while the page is open. Use the club’s normal booking process to confirm availability until the Source time catches up.
How are refresh times changed?
An administrator can change SYNC_INTERVAL_SECONDS for the worker and WALLBOARD_POLL_SECONDS for the screen in DigitalOcean App Platform environment variables. Save and deploy the change, then reload open boards. The defaults are 30 and 15 seconds, respectively.
What happens when a new version is deployed?
Deployment applies any new database updates before the app starts. The worker then collects current reservations and keeps them updated. Existing saved schedules are preserved by ordinary releases. Reload an open board to load the new interface, and check What’s new for release notes.
Who can help with the PIN or a persistent problem?
Ask the club for the staff PIN. For technical support, contact Tech Enterprises at 586.294.7771 or [email protected]. Include the board address, sport, selected date and any warning. Keep PINs and source passwords out of your message.
